Filming with Rocky Mountain Sherpas

Last week I did some filming with the Rocky Mountain Sherpas for a short promotional film they are making for Health Match BC. Health Match BC is a recruiting agency that works to bring registered nurses and doctors from around the world into BC, and one of the ways they do that is by showing the world how beautiful and amazing BC is. Last year they made a film to recruit doctors, and this year they’re making one targeted towards nurses. Being a registered nurse and having a passion for riding/racing my bike, they decided I could help them out by giving the world a glimpse of the riding here in North Vancouver and also speaking about what it’s like to work here, and how those two parts of my life fit together so well.

I picked a fun little trail on Mount Seymour and Malcolm and Dave of Rocky Mountain Sherpas, Johanna (a friend of theirs from Whistler), and Bryden and I all spent the day riding/filming. I had a blast and definitely have a greater appreciation for all those biking videos out there, knowing how much work goes into getting each and every shot. It’s amazing being filmed by people who know what they’re doing and have all the right gear – it didn’t take them long to get the shots they wanted, and when I watched a few of their shots – wow! It looked just like in the movies!! I have to say that although I was very excited to get out and ride my bike, I was a little nervous about the talking (interview) part. Malcolm and Dave were very chill and fun to work with which helped me relax, and everything seemed to flow smoothly from start to finish.

The film is supposed to be ready by the end of August so I’ll be sure to share it when it’s out!
