It snowed the other day... yes, summer is gone, fall is pretty much done, and we are entering winter. I always love the first snowfall - it means I get to put on Christmas music. :) But I'm kind of glad it's gone already so I can go play in the dirt some more.
This winter is shaping up to be a very exciting one! I found myself a nice little '08 CRF 150R and have been having tons of fun on it. I'm still getting used to it - so far I've done some riding around in circles trying to avoid trees and this past weekend went off my first jump! Learning new things is always a good reminder of how funny you can be... awkward, funny... same thing. As long as you can laugh at yourself it's all good! :)
I've also been trying out some yoga to try and limber up for next season. I'm really enjoying it so far and even though all those yogi's look relaxed when they're holding their poses, it's actually quite a bit of work. It's almost the complete opposite of what DH racing is and I have a feeling it will be a nice balance to the fast paced adrenaline rushes that I'm used to. Slowing things down a bit, stretching, and focusing on improving my balance, core strength, and increasing my breathing capacity... I think my body appreciates it.
